Charity / Sat 5th Mar 2022 at 04:50pm

DURING March, men across the country are taking up the March the Month campaign.

March the Month is a virtual step challenge for anyone who wants to keep active and help beat prostate cancer.

Whether you’re walking or wheeling, taking on 11,000 steps a day throughout March is quite a challenge.

They are be doing it for more than 11,000 dads, partners, brothers, grandads and mates who die from prostate cancer every year.

Among the men doing it in Harlow is Longfield resident Dan Long.

Dan said: “I am doing the step challenge to help raise money for the biggest killer in men which is prostate cancer.

“Too many men don’t know they have this form of cancer because most men don’t get checked for it.

“Whether it is pride or just being self conscious It doesn’t matter. Please get checked”.

Also doing the challenge is Mark Hall councillor Matthew Saggers.

Cllr Saggers said: “I am five days into the challenge.

“After seeing the effect of this cancer first hand more than once. I did not want to stand back but rather step forward.
