Ward by ward: Staple Tye: Is it time for Stefan to step up again?
Elections / Wed 4th May 2022 pm31 04:30pm
STAPLE Tye is one of the most fascinating wards in Harlow.
Last year, it went to the Conservatives with a thumping majority of 346.
Four years ago, incumbent councillor Mike Hardware won by just one vote.
Labour will be very keen to take it back as part of their path back to power.
If the Tories are defeated then they will miss Mike Hardware, who has been a vital cog in their regeneration agenda.
Equally, Labour will be keen to have Stefan Mullard back on their team. An astute and hard working politician, he may well be the key replacement for Mike Danvers.
However, as we have said before, whether Labour have councillors equipped to lead and shape a modern council is another matter.
We also have a Green candidate in Lewis Brand, who again has shown a refreshing enthusiasm for local politics and representing the public.
In many ways and in many ways all three candidates show that local democracy is in good hands.
YH Prediction: Labour Gain.
Lewis Brand (Green)
Michael Hardware (Conservative)
Stefan Mullard (Labour)
Good luck Lewis x
Thanks Kim, let’s spark the change that Harlow desperately needs, Vote today! 🌿🌲💚
Lewis people are fed up not being listened to. As you know stort campaigner s weren't, 6,000 signatures ignored. 5000 people waiting on homes, up against thousands of unaffordable. No police around . Roads in awful state. I could go on. It's time for local people to be heard Back to local issues, for local people. It's time. Good luck.xx
Lewis , I am a tory supporter , but must admit . Michael Hardware does not listen to anybody , and did not turn up for his surgery when I was there with a concern. So as much as it sticks in my throat good luck
Ha ha.. Mike Hardware doesn't need to listen to anyone, he rakes in over 20 grand a year for being a county Councillor and his Consultancy business acts for hggt
