THE big bug hunt took place at Parndon Wood Nature Reserve in Harlow on 1st June 2022 during the half term and the free event was a hit with local families.

With over 24,000 insect species in the UK, Baker Ross is on a mission to make kids excited about nurturing nature and giving practical tools to preserve our insect habits with easy to make bug hotels, bee houses and more.

The event took over 150 children on a bug hunt through the nature reserve with 8 species to look out for. The trail was followed on by a fun craft workshop where the budding explorers were able to design their own bug and insect houses to take home and display.

Ezra Folan, centre manager at Parndon Wood Nature Reserve was thrilled with the local collaboration, “Educating children on how they can help wildlife thrive and bringing them closer to nature is one of our key goals here at the nature reserve, and that’s exactly what this collaboration with Baker Ross did. We were very pleased to see such a great turnout on the day!’’
