Bush Fair By-Election: Green Party candidate welcomes second chance
Elections / Sun 19th Jun 2022 at 02:05pm
SIX weeks ago, we interviewed Green Party candidate Jennifer Steadman as she fought the Bush Fair ward in the May District elections.
Ms Steadman came a creditable third, with 116 votes.
As you may well know, the winning candidate, Marco Lorenzini stood down after a few days due to the nature of his social media platforms.
YH caught up with Jennifer Steadman in Hookfield as he canvassed ahead of the June 23rd By-election.
The candidates are as follows:
Emma Ghaffari Conservative Party
Kay Morrison Labour and Co-Operative Party
Jennifer Steadman The Green Party
Nicholas Taylor Harlow Alliance Party
Red red I like red, green ain’t mean compared to red.
Well said jen. People fed up with empty promises. Time to put local people and local issues first. Vote green , we are all local people. There's more than two party's.
theman, what was that? If it was meant to be a chant it sucked, otherwise please explain what you mean
It’s a lyric from a Sammy Hager song from the 70’s, about his favourite colour ,bit of humour, Nothing to get excited about, nothing political. Though on second thoughts it does seem to show how easy people get triggered these days.
Must Google Sammy Hager... Your joke blue me away.
No thank you. The greens are not my cup of tea.
You will never break the Conservative-Labour tit for tat name calling and blame games without introducing others to the council table. Bush Fair residents have two choices to oppose Conservative and Labour. It will be interesting to see how many of the electorate choose to exercise their right to vote on Thursday.
