Even a couple of weeks ago, as the new Junction 7a of the M11 was being opened, one of the bosses at Princess Alexandra Hospital was talking photograph of the green fields beside the motorway and looking forward to a new hospital being built.

Time they stopped talking about jam tomorrow and got on developing the new hospital project in new high rise buildings on the current PAH site, there's plenty of space to use and more that could be freed up by either building a multi story car park or renting nearby multi story car parking. This could start literally tomorrow! The land is already secured and the transport links to it are good.

Also written about here: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/jul/02/boris-johnson-faces-investigation-into-claims-over-40-new-hospitals Why is there any delay to building these 40 new hospitals? After all, the funds are surely available now. The NHS should be getting £350M a week by now. Surely?

The Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) gave the overall 40 new hospitals project an "amber/red" ranking, meaning its delivery "is in doubt with major risks or issues apparent in a number of key areas". In November, the Health Service Journal reported that the IPA's rating for the project was later downgraded to "red", meaning it "appears to be unachievable". Buy don't worry! The bosses of at Princess Alexandra Hospital will be able to take photographs of unicorns grazing in the green fields beside the M11.
