Harlow Boxing Club fear knockout blow over possible bill for roof repairs

News / Sun 21st Aug 2022 at 09:23am

HARLOW Boxing Club has made an appeal over a possible roofing bill that may be hanging over their heads.

Head coach Paul Allen told YH that during a number of lockdown periods, trees close to the club building in Ladyshot started to put pressure on the roof.

We went down to the club to find out more.

A Harlow Council spokesperson said: “The Harlow Amateur Boxing Club lease Ladyshot Common Room from the council.

A recent survey has revealed that there are some issues with the roof which now need addressing. We have been in recent dialogue with the club about the works and associated cost, however no decisions have been reached yet on how those works are to be progressed.

“We will keep the club updated and involved in discussions about the roof and we hope to resolve these issues as quickly as possible”.
