A HARLOW man is preparing to run the London Marathon in memory of his mother.
Billy Barry has detailed his reasons for running the big race on October 2nd on his justgiving page.
Billy said: “On the 2nd October this year I will be running the London marathon in memory of my beautiful Mum. Just 2 days later on the 4th October it will be 20 years since she sadly passed away from bowel cancer, just over 2 weeks before what would have been her 40th birthday on the 29th October, meaning this year would have been her 60th.
“So when I found out the marathon was so close to her anniversary and her birthday, I decided it would be amazing if I was able to run it in her memory and hopefully be able to raise some money for an amazing charity to help towards fighting this horrible illness, which I’m sure has affected most people in one way or another”.
