HARLOW MP Robert Halfon has congratulated Liz Truss as the new Prime Minister and Tory Party leader.

Mr Halfon said: “I congratulate Liz Truss as being elected as the leader of the party and the new PM. She has pledged to deliver a package to support people with the cost of living, particularly on energy bills which is expected to be unveiled within the next few days.

“I will continue to champion Harlow and work hard for Harlow under her leadership, campaign on cutting the cost of living and protecting the NHS. 

“In my role as Chair of the Commons Education Committee, I will also continue championing education and skills so that the young people of Harlow and the villages can climb the ladder of opportunity”.
