Former Harlow Citizen reporter who became press secretary to The Queen recalls a monarch full of warmth

A FORMER Press Secretary to Queen Elizabeth II who started her journalism career on the Harlow Citizen has recounted Her Majesty’s “warmth” and her “service and duty”.

Ailsa Anderson, in an interview with ABC USA spoke of Her Majesty’s “beaming smile” and “incredible capacity for making people feel at ease”.

Ms Anderson worked for the Harlow Citizen in the eighties before becoming a royal press secretary between 2001 and 2013.
