A BID to turn a home in The Chantry area of Harlow into an Air B ‘n” B has been rejected by Harlow Council.
The decision on the council website states:
The proposal would result in loss of housing with no net increase in residential accommodation and thereby conflicts with Policy H4 of the Harlow Local Development Plan, December 2020.
The proposed development would be harmful to the residential amenities of neighbouring residents and existing residents by virtue of lack of parking, lack of refuse storage, increased intensity of activity and inadequate living accommodation. The proposal conflicts with Policies PL2, ED4, PL1 of the Harlow Local Development Plan, December 2020.
The proposed development would be harmful to the character and appearance of the Conservation Area by virtue of the introduction of a commercial use and inadequate infrastructure to serve that use including lack of parking and lack of refuse storage. The proposal thereby conflicts with Policies PL12 and PL1 of the Harlow Local Development Plan, December 2020.
The proposal fails to provide car parking or refuse storage and collection facilities in conflict with Policies IN3 and ED4 of the Harlow Local Development Plan, December 2020 and Principle DG27 of the Harlow Design Guide 2011.
