The Downs Primary staff proud that school remained open during snow

THE Downs Primary School was very proud to be able to successfully open every day this week during the snow.
The team of staff worked tirelessly to ensure the site was safe for children and parents to walk in safely, as well as providing lessons and extended break time for children to enjoy playing in the snow.
Staff told YH that the pictures included here prove just how much fun was had by the children who attended.
Headteacher Rob Calderwood said that he was “incredibly proud of the team who managed to provide a safe, warm learning environment.”
Fantastic effort from the school. The caretakers were shovelling snow every day and my children had a great time. Thanks to all the staff for your amazing effort. Our family think you're fab!
The school team really went above and beyond to keep school open, and were understanding about different families’ circumstances during the bad weather. There was also lots of effort to keep all families informed. It’s not every school that would have teachers joining in throwing snowballs around and making sure the kids got to enjoy themselves, as well as have a safe and warm learning environment. Great stuff!
I don't approve of teachers throwing snowballs at children in the workplace unless they're wearing hi vis which I very much doubt they were
