Athletics: Super Lucy takes major scalp in winning Buntingford 10

HARLOW Running Club’s Lucy Barnes took a major scalp in winning the Buntingford 10 mile road race on Friday.

Lucy , in a time of 1.00.34 easily beat international triathlete Lucy Charles-Barclay. This was a PB as well as a senior female club record,

First home was Pas Blackwell, in his debut at the distance, finishing in 20th place out of 437 finishers in just over the hour at 1hr 00min 07sec.

Also running were Chris Arnell in 146th place in 1.19.22, Julia Gardiner 186th in 1.23.17, Linda Helm-Manley 211th in 1.24.41(Debut), Steve Wright 246th in 1.27.39(PB), Kate Porter 262nd in 1.30.26, Laura Prime 300th in 1.34.47, Michelle Sheridan 313th in 1.36.56, Tracy Stratford 317th in 1.37.09, Kate Babb 366th in 1.43.14 and Jane Evans 367th in 1.43.14.   

Meanwhile, at the Flitch Way Trail 10k at Felsted Scott Bird was victorious in 1st place out of 19 finishers in 41.37 in his debut at the distance.  

At the Ely NYE 10K Jon Steadman finished in 137th place out of 468 finishers in 47.11.

At the Gut Buster 10k, a wet and muddy trail race in Berkshire, Deborah Pomphret finished in 69th place out of 219 finishers in 1.04.31.
