Anti-strikes bill to be introduced to Parliament

News / Tue 10th Jan 2023 at 08:58am

THE government will introduce a bill to Parliament on Tuesday which would ensure public sector services maintain minimum service levels during strike action reports the BBC.

Under the proposals, some trade union members would be required to continue working during a strike.

Downing Street said the new legislation was necessary to “protect the public”.

But unions have condemned it and threatened legal action, while Labour says the plans “won’t work”.

When all else fails, blame the workers and undermine their rights to strike and protest. This Govt has spectacularly failed in every respect, their last minute lip service to meeting unions is a sham and we all know it. They found £billions for their mates to supply dodgy PPE, they reap £millions from their dodgy donors yet they can’t/won’t find the money for the real workers in the country. Solidarity with the strikers and their families, the sooner we have a general election and get a Labour Govt that will recognise the worth of our public service workers the better.

I said that this disruption caused by E.Rebellion, will put a stop to peace full protest as well. I'm against vandalism and chaos in protesting, but we must be allowed to protest peacefully. Theses people that put lives at risk, have painted us all in a bad light. I told them, this would happen. This government won't give in to doctors and nurses, they certainly won't give into this disruption and vandalism, if you think they will your sadly deluded.. to no response.. To protest peacefully is our right to do so, you carnt shut people down, it's our right. . Councils dismiss our voices, now government want to do same. This is not the right time to shut people down.

This will backfire when they find out that the minimum level of service cannot be maintained ( due to lack of funding and mismanagement)when there are no strikes

James Griggs at it again, defending Labours disastrous record on the state of the Town Centre/Market Square.

Lets vote out Labour/Tories and render them obsolete, vote for Reform UK instead.

Both Labour and Tories need sacking, they're only out for what they can get.

Green Lantern, easy to put your remarks, without your name. Easy to criticise, shows how ignorant of politics you are, to lump Labour and the Tories together. The Unions were organised under Labour, alongside other reforms such as the Welfare State and the NHS. This post was about the Tories, imposing laws to curtail workers rights.
