Full-time nursery for under-twos nearly £15k a year, says childcare report

THE average annual cost of a full-time nursery place for a child under two in Great Britain is now £14,836 reports the BBC.

A report by the charity, Coram, says average costs have risen by 5.9% in the past year while the availability of places has also dropped.

The costs for Nurseries maybe expensive but obviously they have lots of overheads . But there are also Childminders that do exactly the same as a Nursery and have to follow the same curriculum as nursery’s and are governed by Ofsted. Most Childminders also offer 2 and 3 year old funding. They offer smaller settings . And charge a fraction of the price a Nursery charges. So there are always other options not all childcare has to be over £15,000
