Athletics: Joanne breaks veteran record with honours at Writtle University

HARLOW Running and Tri Club members were in action at various events over the Easter weekend.
At the St Albans Easter 10k Pas Blackwell finished in 3rd place out of 639 finishers in an excellent PB time of 34min 57sec. He was followed home by Ben Usher in 56th place in 39.59, Terri Wiley 71st in 41.38, Catherine Ridge 84th and 2nd Female Vet 40 in 42.44(PB), Sean Flynn 230th in 50.25, Deborah Pomphret 337th in 55.42, Alan Godbold 483rd in 1.03.09 and Michael Casey 603rd in 1.13.14.
Meanwhile, at the Writtle University 5 mile race Joanne Mills finished in 97th place out of 103 finishers in 53.14, a new Female Vet 75 Club Record.
At the Sudbury 5 mile race Mel Harris was 491st out of 530 finishers in 57.17.
The Manchester to Liverpool Ultra is a unique 50 mile event following the Trans-Pennine Trail, the Manchester Ship Canal and the River Mersey from Manchester to Liverpool. Michael Houlihan completed the run in 225th place out of 351 finishers in an exhausting 10.28.11.
Laura Prime completed the Zig Zag Easter Challenge Half Marathon at Bury St Edmunds finishing in 18th place out of 48 finishers in 2.02.38.
There were parkrun PBs at Harlow parkrun from Chris Arnell finishing in 14th place out of 212 finishers in 22.22 and Colin Langbridge 68th in 26.09.
At Roding Valley parkrun Sandra Webber finished in 41st place out of 83 finishers in a PB time of 28.26.
