Harlow based domestic abuse charity wants you to take on their Muddy May Challenge
RESIDENTS across the region are encouraged to put on their old running shoes and tackle a 5km obstacle course to help raise funds for survivors of domestic abuse.
The local charity supports children and adults who have experienced domestic and or sexual abuse to have a safe place to live and to recover and rebuild their lives.
The 5km obstacle course is a fun run open to ages 16 and over and is aimed at all fitness abilities. It has an array of obstacles and of course a little bit of mud.
Janet Dalrymple, Chief Executive of Safer Places, said: “This is our second Muddy May fundraising event, and we are hoping for it to be a success. We believe that everyone deserves to live a life free from fear and abuse but until such times exist, we will continue to provide safety and refuge to those who need it.
“We know that times are incredibly tough, and we appreciate that many cannot afford to donate to causes that are important to them. We hope those who are able, can come and enjoy a fun event while raising much needed funds for survivors of domestic abuse across Essex and Herts.”
The Muddy May event will take place on Sunday 21st May, at Nuclear Races, Brentwood. Entry to the event is free, but participants are asked to raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship. To take part you must be registered, we cannot accept participants who turn up on the day.
