Veteran Harlow Councillor given Alderman status
History / Sun 28th May 2023 at 07:37am
HARLOW Councillor and former Essex County Councillor Tony Durcan was the recipient of a prestigious honour at Harlow’s ceremonial Annual Council meeting on Thursday.
Cllr Durcan has been made an Honorary Alderman of the County by Essex County Council and was presented with a certificate by outgoing ECC Chair Cllr Eddie Johnson.
Every year, ECC make this award to former County Councillors in ‘recognition of eminent service to the County’.
What's he do.?
Congratulations Alderman Durcan.
Congratulations Tony. Well deserved.
Kim - what do any of them do, apart from make us all poorer
Adam, 😂 isn't that the truth.
As one former Labour county councillor told me at a Labour Party meeting in Moot Hall "it's money for old rope", whilst a former Conservative county councillor told me "is doesn't matter who we send to County Hall, they just don't care about Harlow." I'm happy to take a lie detector test on this statement if anyone wants to challenge me and pay for the test.
There is a councillor in the picture who never replies to phone messages and it’s not Alderman Durcan .!
