HARLOW Running and Tri Club competed in the third round of the Scott’s Travel Midweek Road Race League Division 2 last week over an undulating 10k course at Royston. The team finished in 5th place out of 6 teams and remain in 5th place after three races.

In the Ladies race Catherine Ridge finished in 12th place out of 127 finishers in a superb 44min 08sec. She was followed by Terri Wiley in 18th place in 46.58, Sandi Rust 23rd and 3rd Female Vet 55 in 48.18 and Paige Bircham 24th in 48.17.

In the Men’s race Rob Lowe finished in 10th place out of 163 finishers and 1st Male Vet 50 in an excellent 35.44, Kirk Crungington was 29th in 39.16, Martyn Coulter 32nd in 39.37 and Martin Westley 41st in 40.40.

Meanwhile, at the weekend at the Orion Harriers John Clarke Memorial Fell Race at Chingford, over a 3.4 mile course, Martyn Coulter finished in 27th place out of 180 finishers in 27.34, Linda Helm-Manley was 109th and 3rd Female Vet 50 in 35.50, Louise Cootes 130th in 38.17 and Deborah Pomphret 147th in 41.02.

At the Race to the King Ultra, a 50k trail race over the South Downs and passing by the impressive Arundel Castle, Karen Greenall finished in 274th place out of 348 finishers in an exhausting 10hrs 20min 32sec. 

Ryan Smith completed the Dartford Bridge Sprint Triathlon (750m swim, 21k cycle, 5k run) finishing in 28th place out of 112 finishers in 1.15.12.

At the Cotswold Big Swim (4k) Claire Carter finished in 75th place out of 76 finished in 1.57.23.

At the Alton Waters 1 Mile Swim Melanie Harris finished in 64th place out of 88 finishers and 1st Female Vet 65 in 51.51.
