ON Tuesday 27th June, 260 children from 11 Harlow Primary schools gathered at the Town Park Bandstand for the annual Harlow Primary Schools’ Music Festival.
The weather was perfect, and the park was looking beautiful for the event, with the café staying open late for refreshments.
The children rehearsed during the afternoon and enjoyed a picnic tea with lots of dancing and fun.
The performance began at 6.30pm in front of a huge audience of parents, carers and relations. The children entertained their audience for over an hour and were very enthusiastically received.
The theme of the programme was ‘Togetherness,’ with an additional ‘Coronation’ song and God Save the King to mark recent historic events. Staff from the schools had been planning and preparing for the performance since the autumn term.
Children from the schools read poems about ‘Togetherness’ and two children played solos. Arya played her ukelele beautifully and Freddie entertained the audience with his drumming.
Participating schools were Milwards, Henry Moore, Tany’s Dell, The Downs, William Martin, Fawbert and Barnard, Potter Street, Purford Green, Holy Cross, Longwood and Katherines.
