Crosskeys Netball Club hold annual presentation evening

LAST week, Crosskeys Netball Club held their annual presentation evening where the achievements of teams and individuals were recognised.

First up was the junior section where a variety of squads have performed admirably throughout both winter and summer leagues.

The U11’s were winners of the Turnford winter league. The U12’s winners of their division at Stanbrough as were the U13’s and U14’s.

The U14’s had a phenomenal season finishing 4th best in the country in the ERYL finals.

Onto the summer where the U13’s were R/U in the highly competitive Turnford Summer League.

Special coaches awards were given to Coaches Players of The Season and Most Improved Players as well as league winners medals and MVP awards.

Next came the senior section of the club. Although the evening was about celebrating players and successes it was also tinged with a little sadness as one of the clubs longest serving members had announced her decision to retire from the higher levels of playing and focus on coaching.

Claire Goodall has played at the club since she was thirteen. She has played at the highest level and in the 1st team since her debut. Claire now also enjoys playing with and watching her two daughters play for the club. She will be missed immensely as a player but will no doubt continue to support the club in her new role.
