LAST Sunday, team Daniel Robinson & Sons took on team Princess Alexandra Hospital in a charity football match at the Harlow FC stadium, in front of a maximum capacity crowd.  

Despite a truly valiant effort by our defiant and determined undertakers, PAH were the better team on the day, winning 5-0.  It is without doubt that everyone gave their all, including our mature back four with a combined age of 260 years!

There were times when the game was very close, but the PAH team were just a little stronger, with more youth on their side.  Our thanks to our team Managers Ben and Trevor and PAH team Managers Ian and Mark, for making the game possible. 

Luckily there were no major `casualties’ and no staff from PAH were required for their professional services!

Overall, there is no doubt that it was St Clare Hospice who were the ultimate winners on the day, with in excess of £1600. being raised.  What a fantastic outcome!

To see so many people turn out in support of both teams was unbelievable; with everyone who attended enjoying themselves thoroughly with the crowd getting involved throughout the game. It was an honour to be involved and raise money for such a great cause in St Clare Hospice. Everyone from Daniel Robinson should be proud that they were able to host such a successful event’.
