Covid: Over-65s called for jabs as hospital cases rise

Health / Mon 18th Sep 2023 at 06:54am

PEOPLE 65 and over in England are being urged to get a top-up booster vaccine against Covid at a time when more people are coming into hospitals with the virus reports the BBC.

Those who are eligible can book via the NHS website, on the NHS app, or by calling 119.

The rollout has been brought forward as a precaution against a highly-mutated new Covid variant called BA.2.86.

While hospital numbers are up, intensive care admissions are low.

Although the virus is mutating and changing, the vaccines still provide good protection against getting very sick with Covid, say experts.

Just tried to book via NHS app : there's no vaccination centres in Harlow being listed as offering vaccines? They all seem to be in Herts ? What's occurin'?

Had the exact same experience as 'Nostradamus'. However I contacted the Harlow Pharmacy at Wych Elm and they said my elderly mum can just walk in for the booster.

My doctor sent a text to book an appointment for a booster jab along with one for flu. So might be an idea to contact ypur GP
