Harlowbury Primary school council present report to staff and governors

Education / Tue 7th Nov 2023 at 01:39pm

THE School Council at Harlowbury Primary School work hard throughout the year to represent the views of their class. At the beginning of each academic year, they give a presentation to the School Governors of the main items as part of a review of the year.

Some of the representatives from last year’s School Council, Fred, Arthur and Katie, and Deputy Head Teacher, Sarah Mitchell, met with some members of the Governing Body, Yasmin Gregory (Chair), Jan Fenny (Link Governor for Early Years) and Lisa Honychurch (Link Governor for Health & Safety) over an Afternoon Tea to share the results of the review with an informative digital presentation.

A member of the group said, “As a speech and language specialist centre, it is always encouraging when our children find their voice and use it.  The children were very honest about what is going well in our school as well as highlighting the things that they would like to see change.  The School Council process clearly shows the children that by speaking up, they can effect change.”
