LEADERS of a number of organisations have praised Harlow MP Robert Halfon after his decision to not send at the next General Election.

Principal of Harlow College, Karen Spencer said: “From employing a Harlow College student as the first parliamentary apprentice, to officially opening our multi-million pound HAMEC Engineering Centre, Robert has championed Harlow College throughout his time as both MP for Harlow and as Skills, Apprenticeships and Higher Education Minister.

“His commitment and support for a local College is unrivalled, visiting more than 110 times in my tenure.

“He’s a great advocate of students and has always listened to their views to help make improvements.

“We hope that he continues to support the work of further education and skills when he steps down as an MP.”

St Clare Hospice CEO Sarah Thompson said: “St Clare Hospice is very grateful for Robert’s
support. As one of our Patrons, he has been a great advocate for the Hospice on critical issues,
such as NHS pay and fuel costs as well as when we’ve had operational issues, including when
we had a power failure and he helped us lobby the power company to restore electricity to the
Hospice as a priority.

“Everyone at St Clare Hospice thanks Robert for his continued support of our charity and wishes him well in whatever he chooses to do next.”

Owner of Stort Valley Spirits, Emma Robson said: “During the 3 ½ years’ operating as a small business in Harlow, we have been fortunate enough to encounter Robert on a number of occasions.

Robert was one of the first to send his congratulations to us in 2022 when we were recognised by Small Business Britain as one of their 100 most inspirational businesses in the UK and has followed our progress as we have grown; including visiting our new premises and inviting us to participate in round table events.

“His support and passion for Harlow and the local area is evident by his constant presence at community and business events and we hope that the new candidate for Harlow will continue to do this”.

a number of organisations? Barely even a couple, I count three... I wonder what such organisations like SFG/BMAT would have to say?

Karen Spencer - Robert Halfon may have championed Harlow College, but in voting against Equal Marriage and at the time saying that he was representing the views of his constituents, he sent out the wrong message to your students – He also misrepresented us his constituents! - More recently, his failure to speak out against his party being sponsored by a racist must make a fair number of your students wonder what his true view are about them. Think of your students before eulogising the bloke.

Alex, please see below. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68567484.amp https://home.38degrees.org.uk/2024/03/13/conservative-party-has-a-racism-problem-say-most-brits-as-voters-tell-party-to-reject-frank-hester-donation/ The Biggest Tory donor is a racist, therefore as Wilky stated the party is sponsored by a racist. Maybe you should do some fact checking too!
