Review: Coppelia at the Harlow Playhouse

Entertainment / Sat 13th Apr 2024 at 05:46am

I BOOKED a ticket to see Harlow Ballet’s production of Coppelia for Thursday 11th April. I was looking forward to visiting The Playhouse again after being a dancer at Harlow Ballet over 40 years ago.

I was not disappointed with the show. What a fantastic performance with young talented teenagers dancing the lead roles with confidence, and showing maturity beyond their years.

Jessica, who danced the lead role of Swanhilda, was a shining light on the stage. The younger students from age 5 upwards performed their hearts out and were clearly loving the experience of being on stage too.

The adult dancers compliment the show, bringing it together to make it a professional production. I know from my own experience that these performances make lasting memories and watching the show last night I could see that these children and students will be experiencing the same.

Performing in a classical ballet gives so much to the students & you can clearly see in this show how much joy is abound.
