SUPER slimmers in Harlow and North Weald have raised over £12,000 for Cancer Research UK with their incredible fundraising efforts.

The charity mission started with the Slimming World Clothes throw, an annual event where slimmers accross the weight loss support groups are encouraged to get rid of their clothes which are now too big. Consultant Sharon said “ after losing 6 stone myself I had so many clothes to donate, I know with the support of my group I can keep the weight off so I definitely won’t need them anymore”

The groups in Harlow and North Weald who meet at different locations weekly across the towns have donated over 400 bags to Cancer Research UK. Slimming World team developer Cara has expressed her gratitude to the group consultants and the members within those groups “ I am absolutely blown away by the incredible efforts our members go to week in week out to support each other but this is really above and beyond, it’s made us all very emotional.

The next step in raising vital funds for the charity was Harlow’s Race For Life which saw a record amount of Slimming World members attend the Harlow event last weekend. Slimming World incorporates an activity program which encourages life long healthy habits in getting active, Slimming World consultant Emma said “Race For Life was a perfect opportunity for our members to come along, be active, support a great cause and raise an incredible amount for charity, we feel extremely privileged to be a sponsor and get involved”

I go to Sharon's slimming world class every week and have also lost a lot of weight. The group members are great and we all support each other.
