Community Training Excavation at Weald Hall
Charity / Tue 16th Jul 2024 at 12:38pm
A COMMUNITY excavation at Weald Country Park aims to uncover the Tudor phase of Weald Hall. Weald Hall was altered and extended over hundreds of years.
The later phases of the hall are well known but the location and extent of the medieval manor complex is not fully understood, nor is the phasing of the Tudor Manor House.

This two week excavation (22nd July-2nd August) takes place within the footprint of Weald Hall and seeks to investigate the earlier phases of the hall.
Come and see the archaeologists and their discoveries! Talks will be held onsite at 1pm on weekdays. The site is located adjacent to the Belvedere Car Park (CM14 5QL).
This event is funded by Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) and is part of the Council for British Archaeology’s ‘Festival of Archaeology’.
