Holiday at Home with St Stephen’s Church

Communities / Wed 31st Jul 2024 at 09:15am

ST Stephen’s Church, Tawneys Road, near Bush Fair, is opening its doors this Sunday 4th August and extending a warm welcome to the whole community to enjoy a Holiday at Home!

Revd Darren McIndoe told Your Harlow “Our schools have broken up for the summer and many have already set off for their summer holidays. The reality is though, for many families in Harlow, whether it be a trip to Southend or further afield, it is simply beyond their reach. It is with that in mind that we have put together “Holiday at Home” – a family fun day that will allow people to enjoy the relaxation, fun and good humour of a holiday – away from it all but not at far from your front door.”

“Holiday at Home” will run from 10am until 3pm – inside and outside St Stephen’s Church, beginning with a short thanksgiving service thanking God the work of Revd Sophie Weller, who is moving on to serve Harlow’s villages, and giving thanks for all God is doing in and around our wonderful community!

The St Stephen’s team will then spring into active holiday mode with fun and games, children’s and family activities, stalls and creative spaces, and much more. From midday there will be Karaoke, a Barbeque and other food and drink. There will be singing and dancing – maybe even the birdy-song, the conga and the okeykokey!

Everyone is welcome. Please tell your friends. Come and have fun, fellowship, and a Holiday at Home! Entry is free.
