Livewire set for the main stage at Harlow Playhouse
Entertainment / Mon 26th Aug 2024 at 09:18am
EVERY year Livewire Theatre and Harlow Playhouse team up for their “Playhouse Summer School”. This exciting project sees older members of Livewire and those who were successful through audition, come together to devise an original piece of theatre.

Past performances have included sell out shows such as Love Beach and last years “All Alone Together”. This year the performance is entitled “Play Dead”, inspired by Bjorks single and will be focussing on the issue of violence against women and girls. Creative Director Sam Ashford had this to say on their choice or subject:
“Everything we do at Livewire is issue based, we are focussed on creating pieces of drama that not only entertain but challenge our audiences. We want our participants to explore issues that encourage empathy and understanding. After long discussions with our members we thought that violence against women and girls was something we wanted to address head on as it is so prevalent in our society.”
Play Dead is on the Main Stage at Harlow Playhouse on Friday 30th August 7.30pm.
Tickets are “Pay What You Can” and are available now.

I love Livewire and all they have done for my family. The confidence they gave my kids is immeasurable and the fact that was/is all free for us still blows me away. We shall all be there Friday night to support, they surprise us every time, you think they can’t possibly get any better and then they do!
