THE Cardiff Half Marathon, held on October 6th, marked an exceptional outing for members of the Harlow Running & Tri Club. Nineteen athletes from the club made the journey to Wales to compete in this highly anticipated event, which is part of the prestigious Super Halfs series.

The SuperHalfs is an international running challenge that takes participants through some of Europe’s most scenic and iconic half marathons. For many members of Harlow Running & Tri Club, this was their first SuperHalfs race, while some have already completed up to four events in the series, a testament to their dedication and passion for running.

The SuperHalfs series offers runners a unique opportunity to participate in six half marathons across six picturesque European cities: Cardiff, Berlin, Copenhagen, Lisbon, Prague, and Valencia. Participants have 60 months to complete the series, and those who do are awarded the coveted SuperMedal and a spot in the SuperHalfs Hall of Fame. This series is more than just a running challenge; it blends fitness with travel, allowing runners to experience different cultures and landscapes while achieving personal milestones.
Harlow Running & Tri Club has played a crucial role in helping its members succeed in both local and international races. The club offers structured, coached training sessions that cater to runners of all abilities, whether they are preparing for their first 10K, an international half marathon or a marathon itself. The supportive environment fosters camaraderie and helps athletes improve their performance while making lasting friendships.
Beyond running, the club also supports its members in other disciplines, including cycling, triathlons, and swimming (both pool and open water). This diversity makes it an ideal community for anyone looking to challenge themselves across a variety of endurance sports.
Harlow Running & Tri Club prides itself on being accessible to everyone, with low yearly membership fees and free taster sessions for those interested in joining. This inclusive approach makes it an excellent option for individuals at any level, from seasoned athletes to beginners looking for a friendly and supportive environment.
