GLOUCESTER Park, in Basildon, played host to Round Two of the Essex Cross Country League matches. Harlow sent a small group and unfortunately not enough in any age group to score team points.
In the 2km combined U11/U13 race, Reggie Kinsella came third in a time of 5.52 minutes. Cian Casey-Bond ran the race in 6.19 minutes for twenty-second position and Finn Morris was thirty-eighth in 6.52 minutes.

In the 4km U15 events, Ben Tucker was seventh in 15.28 minutes and Ben Wilson thirty-ninth in 19.53 minutes. One girl, Darcy Moore, took part in the Girl’s event and was fortieth in a forty-five-competitor field. Her time was 23.31 minutes.
The 6km U17 races saw only a single male and female competitor respectively: Thomas Graham was twenty-first in a large field and did so with a time of 25.05 minutes. Isla Garrett was fifteenth in the girl’s race in 28.01 minutes. James Malyon was the club’s sole senior competitor, and he ran the 8km men’s distance in 45.14 minutes.

Following the weekend there was good news for Ben Tucker. Ben has finished in the top eight at both events so far this season. His consistency and effort have been rewarded by a call up to the Essex squad for inter-county fixtures later in the season.
