A GO FUND ME page has been set up to help the family of a young Harlow boy who passed away on Thursday.
Harlow Tekkers footballer Giona was a much loved and cherished member of a club that is known for its sense of family and community.

Their GoFundMe page reads: “Harlow Tekkers FC are raising money to help the family of Giona “aka JJ” pay towards funeral costs. Giona sadly passed away on 12th December, he was just 12 years old…
Giona was a lovely young lad who always made us laugh, he was the best team mate and has always been a pleasure to coach.
“Rest in peace Giona, #8 ⚽️🧡🖤”
Harlow Tekkers are hosting a ceremony this afternoon at their ground in Sumners in order to pay they respects.
By Sunday morning, the Go FundMe had raised close to £10,000.
Link to the GoFundMe page is below.
YH understands that Giona’s school, St Mark’s West Essex Catholic School, has made a number of arrangements from opening a book of condolences to making grief counselling available in order to help pupils affected by his death.
YH sought permission from the family via Harlow Tekkers before publishing any details.
My thoughts are with this young lads family, friends & teams mates. What a tragic story at any time of the year but so close to a time when a lot of people are celebrating, it somehow makes it feel worse & more difficult. I send my sincere condolences to you all.
Heartbreaking god bless him and his family.
How on earth does a family deal with a death of a child, let alone one so very young? I hope they and those who knew JJ, are being supported at this difficult time. Offering my condolences to his family, loved ones and friends.
I was a good friend of giona, I visited the memorial service and it was wonderful, rip buddie 🕊.
Didn't know the young lad but what a sad sad story my condolence to all the family.
What a tragic news. My sincere condolences to all his family for their loss. I didn't't know the young lad myself, however my nephew did and they went to school together and he was so in disbelief of the news and yeah it's heartbreaking.
Rest in perfect peace young man. Gone too soon.😔🙏🏾
