HARLOW-based middle distance runner George Watkins produced a mature and intelligent run to come an impressive tenth in the Under-15 National Cross Country Champs last weekend.

The best of cross country running were present at Parliament Hills in London on what is a testing course.

George, who attends St Marks Catholic School and runs for Woodford Green AC stayed with the pack and dug deep to produce a very good result.

George now has two more big challenges on the country before the season ends and he turns his attention to the track.
