Faith Matters / Wed 30th Apr 2025 at 02:55pm
A PACKED congregation at St Giles’ Church in Nazeing witnessed the licensing of The Revd Richard Attew by the Bishop of Colchester, The Right Revd Roger Morris.

Licensing (as explained by the Bishop in our film below) is a legal term but it allows Revd Richard to lead worship in the churches of Nazeing. Before Monday night he led in St Mary’s, Great Parndon and St Peter’s in Roydon.
All churches come in the Church of England under the auspices of the Diocese of Chelmsford.

Richard is known throughout the town and villages as a wonderfully engaging and warm member of the church and it was clear that he is very welcome in Nazeing.
As part of the formal service, leading members of the Harlow community including the chair of Harlow Council, Andrew Johnson, Daniel Robinson and Sons manager Liz Chapman and Editor of YourHarlow, Michael Casey gave formal welcomes to Revd Richard.
A film of the event is below.
