Harlow Town Pirates over 65s match report

ON Tuesday 29th May the 65s had their second round of matches in Billericay.

Game 1: Harlow Town Pirates 1 Leyton Orient 1

An even sided game where Harlow opened the scoring early.

Steve Pardoe with nowhere to go on the left made his own luck taking their goalkeeper by surprise with a shot from an acute angle which the goalkeeper fumbled into his goal.

Orient equalised with a miss kicked at the Harlow goal, that somehow spun into the bottom left corner of the Harlow goal.

With both defences playing well and some smart saves from Bill, clear cut chances were at a minimum.

Game 2: Chelmsford 2 v 1 Harlow Town PIrates

This time it was Chelmsford who took an early lead, but again it was that man Steve Pardoe on target to equalise.

There were some unfortunate  decisions that went against Harlow that resulted in Chelmsford being awarded a penalty, this was saved by Bill in goal who got down to his left and tipped it past the post.
Controversy surrounded Chelmsford winner, with what should have been a free kick to Harlow that the referee ignored led to Chelmsford scoring the winning goal directly from that incident.

Game 3: Harlow Town Pirates 1 v 0 Concorde

Harlow were quick out of the blocks for this one, with Bill again making some smart saves.

With both teams tiring in the heat, it Harlow showed more positives signs in scoring.

This was awarded in a first time shot from Ron Adams, after Steve Fletcher moved into open space on the left and put in a gem of a ball square across the box for Ron to finish.
