LAND Sheriffs’ officers receive seven nominations for ACS Pacesetters ‘Security Officer of Distinction’ Awards

Seven officers from Land Sheriffs – who specialise in smarter security – have received nominations for the 2025 instalment of the industry-respected ACS Pacesetters ‘Security Officer of Distinction’ Awards.

Managed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA), the Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) is a quality assurance scheme which aims to raise standards within the private security industry. It assesses companies against a range of criteria, with approved businesses considered to be among the best in the UK.

Land Sheriffs – whose score places them in the top 15% of those involved in the scheme – have seven of their highly trained and experienced officers nominated for the prestigious award this year.

“We’re incredibly proud of our officers for receiving seven nominations! This recognition reflects the dedication and commitment our team brings to the job every day. We’re passionate about upholding standards across the industry to ensure our clients benefit from the very best service, so to see our officers acknowledged for going above and beyond is excellent” says James Coyle, Managing Director of Land Sheriffs.

The ‘Security Officer of Distinction’ award recognises security professionals who have gone above and beyond to deliver an exceptional service. Land Sheriffs’ officers have been nominated for their work on railways and at rail stations across the UK, including in Norwich and Hertford.

Officers went beyond the scope of their duties, undertaking life-saving interventions, tackling anti-social behaviour and providing medical support where required to help protect and secure Land Sheriffs’ clients, their staff, infrastructure and the general public.

“Our nominated officers have been credited for their compassion, commitment, quick thinking and high skill levels – but above all, their professionalism. Whether it’s carrying out a life-saving intervention or diffusing a volatile situation, our teams consistently show an unwavering commitment to public safety and client reassurance, even in very challenging and often unpredictable environments” adds James.

On top of their seven nominations this year, two Land Sheriffs officers won at last year’s awards for their exceptional service.

As a business ranked in the top 15% of those involved in ACS, this status shows clients looking for professional security services that Land Sheriffs are market leaders with the capabilities to provide high levels of service.

“These awards recognise the best of the best, so having seven members of our team nominated is a testament to the quality and skill of our security officers. It reflects the high standards we uphold across the business and the exceptional level of service our clients can expect” says James.

12 ‘Security Officer of Distinction’ Awards will be handed out at the ACS Pacesetters ‘Security Officer of Distinction’ Awards. The ceremony is set to be held at the Royal Windsor Racecourse on 21st May 2025.

“We’re looking forward to the ceremony and to celebrating the achievements of our nominated officers, alongside others who represent the very best in the industry. Whatever the result, they’ve already made us incredibly proud!” concludes James.
