Harlow Council mark Armed Forces Day
News / Tue 24th Jun 2025 at 06:41am

Today Harlow Council gathered outside the Civic Centre as the country marked the start of Armed Forces Week which leads up to Armed Forces Day on Saturday 28 June.
A flag-raising ceremony, attended by representatives from the Royal British Legion, was held outside the Civic Centre. The Chair of the Council, Councillor Andrew Johnson, led the proceedings before a prayer from Reverend Jokey Poyntz and a reading of the Epitaph before the flag was raised.
The flag shows the town’s support for the men and women who make up our Armed Forces community: from currently serving personnel to service families, veterans and cadets.
Harlow Council will be flying the flag all week.
