Embrace the Summer: Hare Street Primary issue statement over heatwave
Education / Sun 29th Jun 2025 at 08:52am
WITH a heatwave expected over the next couple of days, Hare Street Primary have issued the following statement.
“This is a response to plans that other schools have already made around the exceptionally high temperatures that have been forecast for the start of next week as we’ve received a number of messages and emails.

There will be no early finishes (parents won’t be able to finish work early) there’ll be no cancelling clubs. We are inviting children, for the entire week, to attend in their Hare Street PE kit as that’ll be more comfortable for many. But the school week will continue as normal with teachers changing plans as appropriate.
PE kit all week please. Plenty of water, hats, glasses and sun crème.
Embrace the summer – we’re a long time wrapped in winter. Please feel free to tag, share and inform others.
“Hare Street. Excellence always”.
This is far to much like common sense well done. enjoy the weather
SFG closing half day Monday and Tuesday. Absolutely ridiculous, all classrooms have air conditioning and it’s not going to be that hot. Low 30’s in summer is not exceptional. Kids have arranged to go play football in the park. So running around in the heat instead of in cool classroom learning. Excellent decision SFG hope the staff enjoy sunbathing.
Whilst people are booking family holidays to hotter climates in different countries.
