Bouncers and Shakers at the Harlow Playhouse

GET ready for a wild night out — no dress code required!
Bouncers throws you onto the dancefloor of a buzzing 1980’s nightclub, where four bouncers become everyone from the tough lads on the door to giggling girls, boozy blokes, and the dodgy guy in the corner. Fast, funny, and packed with sharp one-liners, it’s a hilarious (and sometimes painfully real) look at an 80’s Friday night on the town.

Shakers takes you behind the bar at the hottest cocktail spot in town, where four waitresses juggle demanding customers, bad dates, and big dreams — all while trying to hold on to their sanity (and their trays). It’s witty, fast-moving, and full of heart.

Put them together, and you’ve got a double bill that’s energetic, outrageous, and a whole lot of fun — with a sharp edge that’ll leave you thinking long after last orders.
⚠ Heads-up! These plays were written in the 1980s, and the language and attitudes reflect that era — some moments might feel dated or offensive by today’s standards. We’re keeping the original script to stay true to the time, but we appreciate your understanding.

In response to the 2 comments - both plays are by John Godber, a famous playwright from Hull. Google him for lots of info about him and his plays. Tickets for the show are available from Thursday 2nd until Saturday 4th October and it starts a 7.45pm.
