AT Safer Places, we aim to drive down the incidence and impact of domestic abuse and to support those who use our services in their journey to recovery, resilience, and independence.

Our support is client-led and holistic, meaning every family member receives specialised person-centred support.

Campaign Introduction

We have successfully attained £5000 of match funding via the Big Give’s Women and Girls Match Fund 2025.

We are fundraising to employ a Children & Family Advocate at our Rosie Centre in Harlow, Essex.

This role will provide vital support to vulnerable individuals and their children, helping them recover from abuse, build independence, and plan for a safer future.

About the Campaign

What is the issue?

The people we support often face multiple disadvantages in addition to domestic abuse. In Harlow, one in eight children lives in absolute poverty, and many experience multiple Adverse Childhood

Experiences (ACEs), which significantly increase the risk of poor mental health, chronic illness, unemployment, and reduced life chances.

At the same time, reductions in statutory funding are placing local services under greater pressure, even as demand for support continues to rise.

Expand capacity at The Rosie Centre to provide consistent, long-term support for vulnerable children and families.

Connect children to essential services and community opportunities, helping them build resilience and plan for brighter futures.
