Harlow couple set to appear in court over cruelty to animals charges

A HARLOW couple are set to appear in the crown court over a number of allegations in relation to cruelty to dogs.

Georgia Eastley, aged 25, of Harlow and Bobby Hunter, aged 35, of Harlow has been charged with the following.

On November 5th, 2024, caused unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, namely JAX, THOR and LOKI, by a failure to act, namely provide them with food, water, exercise and a clean environment to live in, and you knew or ought reasonably to have known that the  failure would have that effect or be likely to do so.

On November 26th 2024, had in your possession or custody a dog to which section 1 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 applied, namely Pitbull Terrier.

On November 6th, 2024 at Harlow, caused unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, namely Dog, by  a failure to act, namely failed to care, feed, keep in a suitable environment  and you knew or ought reasonably to have known that the  failure would have that effect or be likely to do so.

The next scheduled hearing is at Chelmsford Crown Court on November 3rd 2024.

They have been released on conditional bail. One of the conditions is that they are not to be in custody or control of any animal.
