ON Wednesday night, St Paul’s Church was full of local residents, family members of all ages for the annual Carols and Candlelight Remembrance Service, organised by Daniel Robinson and Sons.

The service was led by Revd Jokey Poyntz, who acknowledged that Christmas can be a challenging time for many, but especially for those still grieving for the loss of a loved one, whether that loss is recent or happened years ago.
Everyone sang along enthusiastically accompanied by the de Marc Chamber Choir. Towards the end of the service names of names of those dearly departed where movingly said allowed by the team at Daniel Robinson and each family in attendance place a candle of remembrance in front of Christmas Trees at the front of the church.
One local resident said “Tonight was so important. Daniel Robinson and Sons are far more than Funeral Directors. They understand, connect with and support the community all year round. They care”
The service concluded with families placing tags with messages reflecting their thoughts, prayers and memories on the trees.
