News / Fri 6th Mar 2026 at 07:27am
THE Harlow Council £350 million budget was voted through unanimously. That is to say, the 15 Conservative councillors present, the 13 Labour councillors present and the one Reform councillor all voted it through.
However, there was an hour long debate, which you can see below.
The budget proposal was a 200 page document.
The Labour councillors who spoke were: Cllrs Stefan Mullard-Toal, Tony Durcan, Jake Shepherd, Tony Edwards, James Griggs

The Conservative councillors who spoke were: Cllrs Russell Perrin, Dan Swords, James Leppard, Hannah Ellis, Nicola Purse, David Carter.

The Reform councillor Paul Jago did not speak.
Film is below.
A lot of waffle from Labour who then proceeded to vote for the budget. They really had no choice as they failed to propose a comprehensive alternative. A single amendment is not an alternative budget. Reform's councillor failed to provide an input to the most important council meeting of the year, which shows he is out of his depth
