Princess Alexandra Hospital holds emergency exercise
News / Tue 17th Mar 2026 at 05:50pm
PRINCESS Alexandra Hospital are taking part in planned emergency preparedness exercises with partner emergency services on the following dates and times:
Today (Tuesday 17 March), 5pm to 11pm
Thursday (19 March), 9am to 3pm
These are test exercises only which are designed to ensure that we, alongside other emergency services, remain fully prepared to respond effectively to a major incident.

Essex Fire Service personnel and vehicles will be at the hospital today (Tuesday 17 March) and on Thursday (19 March), staff will be practicing putting on specialist suits and practising putting up specialist tents.
Patient care and all services will continue to operate as normal throughout the exercises.
Members of the public who have questions or concerns are encouraged to speak to a member of staff.
I wonder if the exercise was: How the hell do we build a new hospital on time when we built something no bigger than a park's cricket pavilion 14 months late? I expect realising that the PAH directors can't manage construction projects might be a start. Maybe, now is a good time for some news on the New Hospital?
What! No news on the new hospital? I wish I had a job in Communications at PAH. It must be dead cushy.
This town really needs a hospital, one that functions. I know it's not a council issue but I'd love to hear our council fighting tooth and nail for a hospital because we are being let down. All very well cleaning street signs etc but honestly, having a council and an MP really fighting to help the health of Harlow people would be THE vote winner. Without health, the rest isn't actually important.
