The incident occurred at around 9.05pm yesterday (Wednesday 25 March) and involved a blue Ford Fiesta.

It is reported the vehicle had been travelling on Redricks Lane in the direction of High Wych Road when it left the carriageway and collided with a tree before landing back in the road.
Sadly, one of the passengers, who can be named as 17-year-old Megan Swann, died at the scene.
Two other teenage girls were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old boy, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing injury by dangerous driving.
In tribute to Megan, her family said: “Megan was a daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, cousin and friend. She was a bright, beautiful, caring and loving young girl. She had a zest for life with an infectious personality. If you met her once you would never forget her. You would hear Megan before you saw her and hear her laughter. She was doing so well with her college and was on track to pass her hair and beauty course with flying colours. She was only 17 with her whole life ahead of her.
“Her sudden death has left us all with a deep ache that will never heal.
“She will be forever missed.
“Megan, we all love you xx”
Megan’s family kindly ask for privacy at this time.
Detective Sergeant Ben Heath from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with Megan’s family at this difficult time.

“I am appealing for any information that could help with our enquiries. Did you see a blue Ford Fiesta travelling in the area at the time? Or did you witness the events leading up to the collision? If you were travelling in the area and have a dash cam fitted, please review your footage as you may have captured something which could assist our investigation.”

How tragic for poor Megan’s Family ! It’s always the same these idiot drivers save themselves at the last moment so they don’t get killed ! You know because of his age some Spiv Judge will give a lenient sentence, his irresponsible parents should be doing his sentence for him. What a shame the Law that’s been changed isn’t in effect yet ! Speeding and stupid !
How awful , condolences to her family at this sad time.
Condolences to Megan’s family, so young and sounds like she had a huge future ahead of her, As for the driver - whilst it will live with him for the rest of his life, to hit a tree on redricks lane and bounce back onto the road, shows the speed he must have been doing, I drive redricks everyday and some of the drivers who hit 60 is ridiculous. It is about time this road was changed to 30, He’s taken a young girls life all for showing off. The driving age needs to be upped, 17 is so young to be in control of a car
So sorry to Megan’s family. My son knew Megan and is devastated. So young, such a tragic accident. I hope Megan’s family get justice. Rest in peace Megan. X
This absolutely breaks my *ucking heart, beautiful young lady in the prime of her life, may you rest in eternal peace megan 🙏
Tragic my sympathy for the young ladies family. The standard of driving these days is terrible, people up your arse trying to overtake when your adhering to the speed limits .I'm surprised there's not more accidents.
