Firefighters worked throughout the night to extinguish an industrial unit fire in sections by 6:42am.

An investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the fire.

SIX crews are currently at the scene of a large fire in Roydon.

Crews were called to smoke in the area in Old House Lane, Roydon at 9:18pm.

On arrival, firefighters reported an industrial unit was 100% alight and have been working with colleagues in Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service to extinguish the fire in sections using an Aerial Ladder Platform.

Station Manager Howard Midwood said: “The scene is producing a large amount of smoke. If you live in the area, please keep your windows and doors closed.”
