Harlow MP Chris Vince continues to have confidence in Prime Minister
Politics / Mon 11th May 2026 at 06:00pm
WITH over 55 Labour MPs calling on the Prime Minster Sir Keir Starmer to quit (as of Monday 7pm), we thought we would ask Harlow MP Chris Vince, if he continued to have total confidence in the prime minister.

Mr Vince said: “Of course. Last week was always going to be a tough night for us.
“Two years into a Labour govt where we are fixing 14 years of mess and stabilising an economy wrecked by Truss, which we are doing”.

Chris Vince, honestly, this is not news. Our MP shows total contempt for his constituents who have resolutely rejected Labour last week, giving them an historic low vote of just 13.2%... pathetic. He has shown he is nothing more than a sycophant and Starmer puppet. Harlow deserves an MP to represent our constituency, not a spineless dummy. The momentum to oust Starmer will accelerate and Chris Vince will join him in oblivion for his cowardice and betrayal.
For the next General Election we should have Dan Swords as our MP. He would be the best for Harlow.
Hopefully Dan Swords will be our next Harlow MP....Not the gormless Labour one we have now. 98k a year just to show up at photo opportunities
I agree. We need someone with a true passion for Harlow and that has to be Dan Swords. Chris Vince is a joke.
Yes, Dan Swords would be the best option for Harlow. He will smash Vince and give us an MP who has a real passion for Harlow instead of a paper cutout MP.
Dan would be a fantastic MP for Harlow. Just look at the changes he has made.
Message to Chris Vince - you were elected to represent your Community. That Community wants Starmer gone (based on local election results and what the vast majority of people think not just Dave down the pub) You know this but you continue to support and not put your Constituents first because you have no backbone. Guessing you are waiting for a Cabinet friend to come out and say he should go then you'll jump on the bandwagon hoping to keep your Parliament position safe. Any respect you may have retained is now gone. You do not represent your Constituents you simply represent yourself. Shame on you.
Chris Vince, best you refresh your memory and re-read your job description. You have the privilege of representing the Harlow community, yet it seems you are more focused on cosying up to your friend in Westminster.
Well said Ginger prince. Chris vince is a huge disappointment he is only interested in keeping his own well paid Position with benefits. Starmer is on his way out that is a given. Labour have lost all credibility yet Chris vince still comes out with the old typical line of we are fixing the mess from the last government. The same old line that starmer uses when his back is up against the wall. It's one lame excuse after another. Labour have alienated the British ppl. Shame on you Chris vince. You should be standing up for the people you were elected to represent not cosy up to starmer.
It’s ok. Our mp will be supporting the prime minister in his resignation later today , followed by his support for an election called by the prime ministers replacement within the next 6-9 months. It’s the Tory demise all over again
Labour were elected less than 2 years ago with a huge majority, they are not going anywhere. Chris Vince is still learning, of course he is going to be loyal, that is actually to be commended. Had the Iran war not happened inflation would be falling as would interest rates, the local elections could have been very different.
Chris are you still continuing to "flog the dead horse"?
Regardless of who takes over from Starmer the trust and belief in a party that has done so much damage in every aspect to this country and it's people. Quite honestly. An embarrassment. This has alienated labour as a party and there is no coming back from this. The trust has well and truly gone . A general election is the only way forward. Labour was elected due to a manifesto of empty promises and lies. More U turns than a spinning top. They attacked our farming industry. Our businesses. Our fishing industry. The lowest of the low was our pensioners. Labour have hiked taxes in businesses and in every other direction. Our economy is rock bottom. There definitely is no way labour will ever come back from this no matter who takes over from Starmer. The damage to the labour party is irreversible. The people should have their say and a general election should be called. The people of this country should have their right to vote in a general election.
Chris Vince was a founding member and later Chair of Amnesty International's Harlow branch yet failed to condemn the actions of Israel's army in shooting up two Gaza ambulances and killing the medics. The ambulances and medics were then bulldozed into a pit by the IDF to attempt to cover up their Geneva Convention crime. Vince stayed silent, yet Amnesty International condemned it. Now, in similar vein, Vince stays aloof from the obvious evidence that Sir Keir Starmer has betrayed the people and lost their support. Last week's local elections were a catastrophe for Labour, which was highlighted by losing London borough Waltham Forest to the Greens and the Hackney mayoralty to them also. The reason is Vince is part of the right-wing cabal fronted by Labour Together that propelled Sir Keir Starmer to party leader. He even took £10k of support from Labour Together's big business funded operation for his election campaign. For a former maths teacher Vince is struggling with the formula Starmer + Working Class support = Zero.
Chris Vince is an absolute disgrace, calling himself the MP for Harlow and the surrounding areas, what does he actually do, other than agreeing with everything Starmer tells him to do, even though a lot of it, the majority of Harlow residents wouldn’t agree with, his first post in your Harlow, was his excuse as to why he backed the prime minister to take away the pensioners fuel allowance, that’s before they started on the inheritance tax for farmers, trying to kill off our hospitality industry, is that Labours revenge because during Covid Rishi Sunak was doing everything in his power to help it survive? the fuel 5p duty hike we are all going to get come September, which means more money going into the Labour coffers, which will fuel higher prices in the shops. taking our veterans to court over the Northern Ireland troubles, from 40years ago. Someone wrote you are nothing more than a paper cut out, I disagree on the basis that would be an insult to a paper cut out.
Like Chris Vince, I too have 100% confidence in the Prime Minister. Unfortunately, my confidence is for him to continue to be inept, ineffective and unelectable. Chris Vince is completely clueless, spineless and wetter than a puddle, although a puddle probably has more depth to it. Harlow people want nothing to do with Labour, both locally and nationally.
If a general election be called can you imagine Chris Vince up against Dan Swords to be Harlow MP? Chris Vince would lose his deposit and be utterly smashed by Dan. Vince and Starmer both have to go.
Chris Vince is a useless opportunist who is is only interested in feathering his own nest. He does not represent Harlow. He is a total fraud. Last week's elections were also a verdict on him.
Boris - yes the war has affected the plans that were in place. But you cannot believe the election result would change if it hadn't surely? I get allegiance to a particular Party and it's leader but come on. Also, bet you were a Johnson basher when Covid hit and decisions he made - accused of not being prepared. So just like Labour with an inevitable war - why weren't they prepared? As for staying loyal I get it but loyalty is fine but CV in employed to represent his Constituents and he is so far removed from that it is untrue.
