I HAD the absolute pleasure of escorting our Young Greens representative Madison Baker took a trip to Southend to attend the Eastern Region Conference on Saturday 23rd May.

We were delighted to hear from guest speaker Natalie Bennett, Green Party Member of the House of Lords, who spoke passionately about her train journeys to Norway to study soil science and the importance of sustainable travel and environmental research.

Throughout the day, we attended several engaging group sessions, including a presentation and Q&A from the Eastern Region Young Greens many of whom are already elected Councillors. It was also a great opportunity to meet and connect with Young Greens Councillor Jenny Knight, Jack Blomfield, the Eastern Greens committee member, our Eastern Region Field Officer Henry Parker-Day, and Eastern Region Campaign Organiser James Vessey-Miller.
It was a fantastic day with an incredible turnout, full of inspiring conversations and shared enthusiasm for the future.
We are already looking forward to attending our National Conference later this year where we will connect with Young Greens from all over the Country.

As the Young Green, Madison Baker, is plugging former Green Party leader Natalie Bennett's books it might be worth mentioning a book review of 'Change Everything': "There is much to agree with in the book. Bennett writes well, accessibly and with a strong ethical sensibility. Yet she is much better at outlining the nature of the problems to be overcome than suggesting feasible solutions." Maybe, Madison should write a letter to YourHarlow explaining why that critique may be a little harsh. David forman, as I'm sure you are aware Natalie Bennett says as leader are over. As you ascert from the review Natalie is very good at outlining problems, than solving them. I for one take joy in reading that Madison Baker as a young person is taking an interest in finding these solutions herself perhaps!
Dear Stephanie Marsh, as I stated earlier Natalie Bennett was the "former Green Party leader". Secondly, it would have been the case of Madison Baker "finding these solutions herself" if she had written the press release or at the very least had been allowed atbl.leadtva single quote. A most patronising state of affairs where pensioner Jennifer Steadman implores more young people to get involved, yet does the talking for the Young Green.
Dear Stephanie Marsh, a typo in need of correction: "at the very least had been allowed a single quote". Madison Baker was considered good enough to be a council candidate in this month's local election, as were you, yet seemingly Ms Baker is not worthy enough of being allowed to express her own opinion. Try giving your younger members some autonomy.
