Potty idea? Table Tennis tables in the Market Square

TABLE-TENNIS tables have been installed as part of the million-pound facelift for the Market Square in Harlow Town Centre.
For some (cynics/realists-delete as applicable) these will just be targets for vandals in an area that has been described a “no-go”.
For others, (optimists/visionaries) they are just a small part of a larger regeneration scheme that will see a massive transformation in the area.
This is not a new idea, there are table tennis tables in Chelmsford to name just one place.
We went down and took a photograph on June 12th. We will return in a months time and see if they remain as pure as a Chester Barnes top slice.
I've seen them in Cambridge and Chelmsford and they work, so why is it somehow "potty" to imagine them in Harlow? Harlow itself has a legacy of sporting achievement so I can't see why something like this wouldn't fit right in.
I've mislayed my table tennis bat; might have to buy a new one now. Not forgetting balls. I must say it looks good, can't wait.
Can you imagine the ferals turning up, late at night? Guaranteed this crackpot council will regret the idea, sooner than later.
