HARLOW Council has issued the following update on waste and recycling collections:

“Yesterday (12 April) our waste contractor Veolia informed us that they have caught up with the outstanding bin collections that were affected by last week’s delays.

“We are pleased that Veolia, having deployed extra resources, have given us this update.

“We are aware of some isolated incidents where bins have been missed; if your bin has been missed please report it to us in the normal way at Print Friendly, PDF & Email

A new contract, new procedures so a few teething problems. The council apparently paying £150,000 a year less No problems where I live (Mark Hall area) that I could see. Thought recent comments by Tory councillors were quite pathetic. They seem to have forgotten the recent train timetable debacle (that was worth a comment!) and of course their inability to manage Brexit

Caught up with there collections, hahaha, my green food waste bin should of been collected on Monday, I called the council on Tuesday to inform them that my 4 neighbours bins had been collected, and was told the computer said no as they hadn't been collected, to which I replied maybe the homeless had emptied them in search of food, anyway checked my 4 CCTV cameras at the front of the house and the food waste collector arrived next door at 1:53pm on Tuesday, emptied there bin, looked at mine then promptly moved onto my adjoining neighbours, crossed the road to the awaiting food refuse truck and buggered off, called the council back and was told that I had to wait another 24 hours before I could lodge a complaint, called back Wednesday and lodged a complaint, also emailed through the council website link on uncollected bins, still no reply, called again Thursday morning and was assured it was on the list to be collected that day, Nope, called again Friday morning put on hold and was assured it would be collected that day, come 4:30pm rang council again who informed me that it will be collected on Monday - what a shambles, maybe I will seek legal advice on a council refund for lack of services including my expenses for time related telephone calls etc including legal fees, they are quick enough to send a letter out when council tax payment is late, also I have everything on video but this site doesn't seem to allow uploads lololol
